The Student Experience Survey National report is the only comprehensive survey of current higher education students in Australia. It’s based on hundreds of thousands of surveys completed in 2022 by students from all universities across Australia, both public and private.
Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching, or QILT, is an independent federal government survey that’s been administered annually since 2012.

ECU is again highly regarded internationally for Sports related subjects, ranking 33rd in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 and 6th among Australian universities.
In Performing Arts, ECU again ranked in the top 100 globally. This places ECU equal first in Australia in this category, a significant achievement for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

The WJEC 2025 will be hosted at the Mount Lawley campus, which hosts some of the most progressive learning environments across Arts and Humanities, including the world-renown West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
The School of Arts and Humanities is one of the largest and most comprehensive schools of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, with a diverse range of programs covering media and communications, contemporary arts, design, psychology and social sciences, criminology and justice, and the humanities.

Coming to the heart of Perth in late 2025.
ECU City will nurture and celebrate what is possible when creative industries meet business and technology. It will include the internationally recognised Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), with its world-leading courses in areas such as Dance, Aboriginal Performance, Musical Theatre, Acting, Music, and Production and Design.
From the School of Arts and Humanities will come creative industries programs, such as Broadcasting and Digital Journalism, Visual Arts, Design and Communications, as well as the WA Screen Academy with its programs in cinematography, film directing, documentary-making, production and screenwriting. Programs will be delivered in leading-edge film, television and broadcasting facilities.

Kurongkurl Katitjin
Kurongkurl Katitjin is also hosted at Mount Lawley campus. Pronounced koor-ong-kurl cut-it-chin, Kurongkurl Katitjin is a Noongar phrase meaning “coming together to learn”.
Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University’s Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research, plays a vital role in assisting the University to meet its commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We support University-wide activities and programs, as well as activities specific to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their cultures. This includes: engaging closely with Indigenous people and communities; assisting Indigenous students and staff to realise their full potential; ensuring that individual differences and diversity are respected; andcontributing to Indigenous community development and sustainability through our students, staff and graduates.
ECU’s Indigenous programs date back to 1975, when the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program was first established at the Mount Lawley Campus.
